Special Olympics Ongoing Partnership - Going All In(clusive) Campaign

Today is a crucial day globally for Special Olympics, as it rallies around the idea of what true inclusion means and we help it amplify this powerful message.

Allison+Partners is a proud partner of Special Olympics. And whether it’s through our agency’s Global Day of Giving, pro bono services or volunteering at events, our team members are committed to supporting the nonprofit’s education and inclusion initiatives.

As a co-founder of the company, I have been amazed to see our team members’ participation and learn about the many personal family stories that brought the inclusive message home. I had no idea how many people had been touched through intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). I was shocked to learn nearly 200 million people around the world with IDD continue to be marginalized and excluded in schools, workplaces and communities. Think of how those with IDD and the millions of families and friends supporting them feel, how they cope and how they persevere.

This statistic is staggering, and we knew we had to do something to help raise awareness and help foster change. This marginalization creates incredible exclusion, social isolation and social abuse, robbing us all the opportunity to learn and grow together. People with IDD know this better than almost anyone.

On March 1, Special Olympics, Best Buddies International and supporters from around the world will unite for Going All In(clusive) – the newest campaign for the fourth annual Spread the Word: Inclusion Day.

The main message we want to share this year is inclusion is about everyone. Going All In(clusive) is a motivational rallying cry doubling down on the belief everyone can make a difference. And to do that well, we need to go all in, shouting from the rooftops that true inclusion is about EVERYONE, and it needs to be about NOW.

What can we all do to rally with them? We are asking our team members, family and friends to support Special Olympics by sharing their stories on their social channels about how they plan to “go all in” and take actions for inclusion. I would love to challenge my followers and the agency’s followers to pledge their commitment to be inclusive. It’s simple: go to www.spreadtheword.global. Show your pledge of inclusion by tagging Special Olympics on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram at @PledgeToInclude and @specialolympics.

Thanks for joining us in our efforts for Going All In(clusive)!
