As we face one of the greatest challenges of our time, impacting our people, businesses and communities in unprecedented ways, we wanted to share some of our thinking about how Coronavirus/COVID-19 will affect our world, now and in the future.
Above all, we think of those who have contracted the virus, and wish them speedy and full recoveries. We draw inspiration from the countless brave healthcare workers around the world who are putting their lives on the line to keep us safe while caring for those in need.
From the first emergence of this outbreak, our focus has been on the health, well-being and safety of our team members and clients. We learned much from how our colleagues in APAC dealt with this issue early on, and applied those principles quickly to our efforts in Europe and North America.
I have witnessed firsthand the distress and uncertainty caused by the novel coronavirus. I spent time with our colleagues in Seoul, Singapore and Tokyo last month, as the virus began to spread to their communities. I also experienced what committed and forward-thinking leadership, alongside the hardworking and flexible teams they assembled, could accomplish.
As communications professionals, we operate in service of the truth and clarity. COVID-19 makes this nearly impossible. There is still so much that has yet to be learned, further muddied by the complex dynamics of politics and economics in the midst of a global pandemic.
At Allison+Partners, our teams are used to operating in challenging situations. We are working closely with our clients to ensure they have the full range of our services available to them, including business continuity process development, crisis management, internal communications and video and digital tools designed to replace in-person activities and events. At the same time, we recognize that our clients are facing monumental impacts to their own businesses, whether that is global supply chains, consumer demand or government-mandated closures.

From working moms and dads doubling as primary educators to product review mailings being handled from home and everything in between, we recognize we are in uncharted territory. As an agency that was launched on September 1, 2001, just days before 9/11, which precipitated the dot-com bust and a long economic downturn, we are no stranger to global crises. We know well that the only constant in these uncertain times is change, and only by staying nimble and responsive to our people and our clients will we be in a position to best serve them now and in the future.
