As the property prepared to launch its $750 million expansion and renovation, our goal was to position the property as one of the only thriving Las Vegas hipster scenes in the midst of the economic downturn. We had to build excitement for the launch of the Hart & Huntington tattoo shop, high-end steakhouse Rare 120° and the re-launch of its live music venue, The Joint.
We promoted the property expansion and convention facilities as a bright spot in a gloomy economy to garner business coverage, showcased the incredible new facilities, the tattoo shop and Rare 120° as amazing options for the non-gambler, positioned The JOINT as the state of the art venue for live music to the entertainment press and captured the digerati via our Twitter feed.
The result was a sold-out grand opening weekend, a significant increase in wedding and convention sales, and more than 100 million impressions in top-tier business and trend-setting outlets ranging from BusinessWeek and the Wall Street Journal to People, Us Weekly, E!, Guitar Player, SPIN, Rolling Stone and more. In addition, our creative 'Twitter Tuesday' and 'Facebook Friday' promotions sparked the booking of hundreds of room nights and generated significant revenue for the property.
