Rich Moore

Rich Moore is Managing Director of the Silicon Valley office focused on working hands-on with B2B technology and innovation-oriented companies in all stages of growth.  He has more than two decades of experience in strategic communications, public relations and high-technology marketing.

Prior to joining Allison+Partners, Rich was a co-founder of New Venture Communications (NVC). His work has included counsel to Internet of Things semiconductor leader Atmel (ATML); corporate marketing support for solar energy solutions provider First Solar (FSLR); rebranding support to email and cross-channel marketing provider StrongView; counsel to open mainframe startup Platform Solutions through its battle with and acquisition by IBM; and counsel to SaaS provider KANA through its acquisition by Accel/KKR.

Prior to founding NVC, Rich was a venture partner at Battery Ventures, guiding general partners and portfolio companies on strategic communications and marketing activities. He supported companies such as Corillian, empowerTel (acquired by Cypress Semiconductor), and Enosys (acquired by BEA Systems). He was also one of four co-founding partners of Copithorne & Bellows, a high tech PR firm that he helped to grow to more than 300 people in 13 offices worldwide prior to its acquisition by Omnicom in 2000.  Rich also served as vice president and General Manager at Miller Communications. He has a bachelor of arts from The Ohio State University School of Journalism, where he served on the school’s advisory board.

Can you tell us something about yourself that would surprise most people you know?

My dad wanted to name me Mickey Mantle Moore.

What is your most treasured possession?

My mid-western roots

What book has had the most impact on you?

Rabbit Redux by John Updike because it inspired me to pursue writing. 

What do you love about your job?

It is like a life-long MBA program - working with different companies, analyzing situations and creating strategic solutions to various challenges.
