Brian Brokowski has more than twenty years of experience establishing, building and defending the brands of industry leaders, from emerging start-ups to Fortune 100 companies. He has directed consumer, business to business, public affairs and crisis communications efforts for a broad range of clients in the technology, telecommunications, health care, travel and tourism, energy and biotechnology/life sciences industries.
His current and past client experience includes SolarCity, GreatCall, AT&T/SBC/Pacific Bell, San Diego Padres, Home Depot, Health Net, Scripps Health, Venetian & Palazzo Resorts, Canyon Ranch Resort & Spa, Hotel del Coronado, Baja California Tourism and the US. Department of Homeland Security.
Prior to Allison+Partners, Brian was vice president of communications for SGB, Inc., a biotechnology company developing new crops as sources for industrial materials and bioenergy. With SGB, Brian built a global communications program from the ground-up, taking SGB from stealth mode to one of the world’s ‘hottest’ bioenergy companies for five straight years. He was part of a management team that generated nearly $30 million in venture and strategic funding.
He also spent 10 years with Fleishman-Hillard International Communications as one of the founding members of the agency’s San Diego office.
Brian is a graduate of the University of San Diego and has called San Diego home for more than 25 years. In his spare time he can be found training for his next marathon or watching his beloved Padres in their continuing quest for a World Series championship.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
The next great left fielder for the Boston Red Sox. Ted Williams – Carl Yastrzemski – Jim Rice – me. I’m still waiting for the call…
What’s your most treasured possession?
My running shoes. There’s nothing like a long run along the coast to recharge the batteries and brainstorm new ideas.
What do you love about your job?
Working with a talented and fun team and the freedom to build, innovate, create and imagine on a daily basis. Every day is an adventure.
What was the best advice you ever received?
To succeed in life you have to take risks. I wouldn’t be where I am today if I didn’t.
